Keepsake respects your privacy and observes necessary measures in protecting and managing personal information of every data subject. It adheres to the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose and proportionality. Keepsake is committed in providing our Users awareness about personal data collection, and freedom of Users to exercise their rights and other options defined, limited and set forth under the provisions of Philippine Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy by posting a new version on our Website. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by posting a notice in the Service prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date will be subject to the new Privacy Policy.

3. “Website” shall refer to Keepsake website;
4. “keepsakes” shall refer to Letters, Capsules, and other digital content you create within the Website;

There are three basic categories of information we collect:

• Information we get when you use our services.
• Information we get from third parties.

1. Information you provide:

   • Personal Contact Information.  The personal contact information of Users shall be collected upon signing up. These contact details shall be limited to the following:

     • Username
     • Name
     • Email address
     • Timezone
   • Data from usage.  Information you send through the Service, such as Letters and Capsules. The same common sense that applies to the internet at large applies to Keepsake as well: Don’t share content in a keepsake that you wouldn’t want someone to save or share.
   • Voluntary Information.  When you contact customer support or communicate with us in any other way, we’ll collect whatever information you volunteer or that we need to resolve your question.

2. Information we get when you use our services:

   • Usage Information.  We collect information about your activity through our services. For example, we may collect information about:

     • How you interact with the Service, such as which pages you visit. This is used for analytics purposes.

   • Coarse Location Information.  When you use the Service, we may collect information about your approximate location (city) based from your IP address. This is used for analytics purposes.

   • Device Information.  We collect information from and about the devices you use. For example, we collect:

     • Information about your hardware and software, such as the device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and browser type. This is used for debugging purposes.

   • Keepsake is inclined to gather data from platforms the Website runs with; and data for advertising, promotional and analytics purposes.

1. To develop, operate, improve, deliver, maintain, and protect our products and services;

In all of the above cases and purposes, we may analyze, profile and segment all collected data.

• With other users.  Social features are a core component of the Website. For example, other users will see Letters that you’ve sent them. If you’ve set your Letter to public, anyone can see it. Private keepsakes will always and only stay between the sender, recipient, and/or its participants. Not even Keepsake would dare take a look at them.

• With third parties.  Keepsake engages the services of third-party service providers to process data in accord to the instructions provided by Keepsake. The information disclosed relates only to hosting, chat, user support, advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Private content (such as private letters) are never shared with third parties, and they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. • With Legal authorities, if needed.  Keepsake shall not be held liable when disclosure of personal information is mandated by law, directed by a legal obligation, or demanded by national security and public interest. We may share information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the information is needed to comply with any valid legal process and protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, and our different stakeholders.

• With Google AdSense and other advertising partners.

Data stored by Keepsake (such as user data, letters, Capsules, and letter attachments) is encrypted at rest with industry standard AES-256 encryption. All data transmission is encrypted in transit using TLS.

Keepsake shall retain personal data and other information provided by the user in the following instances: (1) active User account; and (2) as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which the data was obtained; (3) for legitimate business interests, such as to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements; (4) when mandated by law: Provided, however, that upon cessation of the instances and/or purposes herein mentioned, all data provided to Keepsake may be utilized for statistical purposes only.

Security measures are implemented to ensure protection and safety of the User’s personal information. Keepsake observes the following security safeguards:

1. The personal information collected and processed from Users is not more than what is required by Keepsake to deliver its services;
2. Only authorized persons, employees, and officers are permitted to access personal information;
3. There is a continuous development and implementation of administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or against loss, misuse or alteration.
4. Execution of security measures and minimizing damage in case there is a notice of breach in any part of the system held by Keepsake.

We want you to be in control of your information, so we provide you with the following tools.

• Revoking permissions.  In most cases, if you let us use your information, you can simply revoke your permission by changing the settings in the browser or on your device if your device offers those options. Otherwise, User may contact the personal information controller cited below in order to effect, at any time, revocation or withdrawal of prior consent. Of course, if you do that, certain services may lose full functionality.
• Marketing emails and other direct marketing.  Promotional communications may be received via emails upon subscription or direct request from Keepsake in the address erein mentioned. At any time, the User may unsubscribe or discontinue receipt of any marketing emails.
• Targeted advertising.  You can opt-out of interest-based advertising on websites by checking the privacy settings of your browser or opting out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info
• Rectification.  Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
• Deletion and portability.  If for some reason you ever want to delete your account and all data associated with it, just contact us through our email. If you request, we can also provide you a copy of your personal data in an electronic format. We will respond to all requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Like most online services, we and the third party services that we use utilize cookies and similar technologies to:
